Mederma Skin Care for SCAMS, 2008-05-20
This product doesn't actually work. It didn't work for me anywhere I used it, and it didn't work in a scientific study that tested rabbit ear scars (which someone previously noted): "Histologic analysis demonstrated no significant reduction in scar hypertrophy or scar elevation index...No significant difference in dermal vascularity or inflammation was noted...no significant reduction in scar erythema with Mederma treatment" (Saulis A.S. et al. "Effect of Mederma on hypertrophic scarring in the rabbit ear model).
For the people who claim that this product worked for them, I think your skin either healed on its own, you're a Mederma employee, or it's all in your imagination. The only thing that might have had some effect was that you kept the area moisturized while it healed. Even old scars, over the course of weeks or months (which is the amount of time the Mederma tube claims it will take to see improvement, something like 6-8 weeks), will change somewhat. The Mederma has nothing to do with it. There's no better way to honor the lives of the poor rabbits who died in the study than not buying the product that proved completely ineffective. Please don't buy Mederma.

Works, but takes time, 2008-05-06
I have had sever acne in the past and was left with unattractive scars on my face. I purchased Mederma at my local CVS even though it was expensive, because I needed a solution. Mederma does work well, but don't expect to see results instantly. You need to apply Mederma regularly and consistently for about a month in order to see results. It really does work though. My scars are much more toned down and less visible.

Great product; bad company to buy from, 2008-04-08
This product definitely works. I love it. The company listed to buy from isn't that great, so buyer beware. They listed the product as 1.7oz, but when it arrived it was the .7 oz. They would not send a new shipment and would not correct the problem. The price is good for a .7 oz, but I wouldn't buy from them again.

the mighty onion!, 2008-03-11
Apparently, the key ingredient of Maderma is onion extract. Onions have been practically worshipped throughout history, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that it may indeed have magical qualities. I used Maderma after breast reduction surgery and you cannot see my scars unless you use a magnifying glass. Even then, you'd be hard pressed to see anything. Maybe I'm just lucky, but somehow I don't think so. I'm so impressed with the results I've had, that I've decided to use it on my face. Why not? This is a wonderful product - I cannot say enough about it. Unfortunately, you can't buy this in Canada, which is utterly absurd. I guess onions haven't been tested enough and pose a national threat.

no expiration date on products, 2008-03-02
Good price and fast delivery.
However, on the box and the tube, where
expiration ought to be was left blank.
Made me a little uneasy if the product is legitimate
or has expired. Don't think I will order it again.
The ones you get from stores always have the
expiration date clearly marked.
